Why do we exist?
And what is this all about, really?
In a world brimming with distractions, where a gazillion things happen simultaneously and we're drowning in an ocean of information, keeping your head above the water is no small feat. Especially now, with the emergence of a peculiar problem: the deliberate spread of false information to herd unsuspecting folks in a certain direction.
To stay in the loop, we chug down news like our morning coffee, hoping to catch up with the latest buzz. Often, we rely on a single source, be it a TV anchor, a newspaper, or some digital platform. While many of these sources are trustworthy, the specter of misinformation looms large. And honestly, who has the time to cross-check every piece of news from multiple sources? Certainly not I, said the busy bee.
This is why we build daily-digest.
We build daily-digest.net mostly out of intrinsic motivation to stay informed, but reduce the effort of checking sources. We wanted to build something that aggregates the news to the essentials.
daily-digest.net will start to collect news every day at 6am and 5pm and gather the most
important news for the topics Top News, Finances, Politics, Technology
and Sport. For each news,
we will at least collect 3 different sources. After we collect those news, we leverage a large
language model to aggregate the news to the essentials, but before we do this, we check for
consistency.
We will compare all sources and only take the information into account that is contained in all
sources. This way we want to make sure to reduce the chance of false information to an absolute
minimum.
After we have checked and aggregated the news, we run a specific model to do speech synthesizing to create a natural sounding audio file for each of the topics. This way you can enjoy the generated news while driving your car, brushing your teeth... or having your morning coffee ;)
At the moment, we collect news for Germany and the United States. We rely on your feedback. If you want to get in touch with us, send an email to hi@daily-digest.net.
So long...
